Avoiding Pitfalls of Grantor Trusts
March 26 @ 1:00 pm – 2:30 pm
Grantor trust planning has emerged as a key strategy for tax planning. Because the
grantor of the trust pays the income tax of the trust, a grantor trust provides a vehicle for
indirect gifts and for allowing the trust to appreciate. But the grantor trust also provides
important flexibility for the grantor to enter into transactions with the trust and to manage
trust assets, liquidity and tax savings over time. This presentation will give an overview
of key strategies and pitfalls for grantor trusts.
