Rod Cote, CTFATrust Officer

What’s a trust officer? In Rod’s case, he’s the guy you call when you don’t know where else to turn — even if it’s just for advice on finding a good mechanic. With more than 20 years of managing complex portfolios under his belt, Rod knows that good trust officers are confidants, psychologists, family counselors, and caretakers as much as they are financial professionals.

In particular, Rod focuses on Special Needs Trusts, those plans set up specifically to take care of some of the most vulnerable among us. With little margin for error, Rod takes pride in making sure no one has to worry that they will be provided for in the future.

The best baseball player Rod ever saw in person: Roger Clemens

Hometown: Caribou, Maine

Alma Mater(s): Husson University, New England School of Banking

Past gigs: From his start at Casco Bank 30 years ago, Rod now knows trust departments inside and out: TD Bank, Fleet Bank, Bank of America, Androscoggin Bank.

Volunteer and passion projects: From running programs as a Booster Club member to coaching football and baseball, Rod’s always out on the fields and sitting in board meetings.
